Verify Wordpress On Google Webmaster Tools

I could not get verifyed with a tool by the name of Google Webmaster Tool .
I had two choices to verify my site but neither worked

I tried to add a tag to my Header page; an I tried a file  in a specific location  to my website. I tried both and I would get an error “Not Verified Our system has experienced a temporary problem. “ I went and hit google groups looking for a fix and I tried all of them like the ones below mabey it will work for you so I’ll show you the one’s I used. But the two did not work for me.


1) Write a new PAGE (not Post)
2) Paste on the title (subject) the exact code
that you get from Google Webmaster Tools option Upload an HTML file
(this is the verification method you have to choose).
Example of the />3) Click to publish it.


1) Log in to the admin panel
2) Design > Theam Editor
3) Click on Header.php

5) Click Update


Nither one of those worked for me if it worked for you I’m happy for you. but for me after looking around at all the pages I found an index.php page at the root of my wordpress folder. It is a redirect home page that takes your visiters to the theams index page you chosed.

Close and save the index.php file and then go to your google webmaster account and do a meta verify. Dont forget after you verify the site go back to the index.php file an delete the code you added and leave the old code alone.
