Web Design is a huge chore. I wish it was as simple as determining how things look, where things go, etc. But it’s not. Actually, the first point does apply.
See, I’ve been busy developing my websites the past week in my free time, and have achieved a few personal technical milestones. So after days of trial and error, learning, reading, I’ve gained a considerable amount of new knowledge of CSS, Flash, PHP/MySQL and alot of coding logic.
After creating a beautiful and functional dynamic site that looks absolutely stunning on FireFox/Safari on my Mac, I tried loading it on windows, Internet Explorer 7, and to my horror, it looked like crap.
Fonts didn’t look the same, CSS positions were different, sizes didn’t look the same. So I hurried my ass off and made it look OKAY on IE7. Only to find out that it looks different again on IE6. WTF.
Now after trying to fix it for awhile, I’ve come to terms that IE6 is a piece of crap. Actually, IE is crap. I don’t understand why people like to use it still, given that there’s Safari and Firefox, both evidently far superior unless you’re a fan of certain IE Specific websites, of which I’d wished the designers would get shot in the head for designing a website that ONLY works on IE. No seriously, they exist. I have access to a company website’s admin page, and the system to input a new news entry only works when loaded in IE. Under any other browsers, it doesn’t show. Hah.
Ok, enough of Fred the Computer Nerd. Back to being a creative artist.
